Finnish Nautor Swan shipyard developed the Swan 88 in partnership with German electric motors manufacturer, Torqeedo

Other participants of the project are German Frers, who was in charge of naval architecture, Misa Poggi who created the interior design for the Swan 88 and lots of other Swan models, and Lucio Micheletti, who worked on the exterior styling.

The absolutely innovative characteristic of the project is the shape of the coachroof, featuring dynamic lines, and the transom, which does not only fold down to form a bathing platform, but creates a small beach club. One should also mention the abundance of natural light inside: it gets in through the atrium companionway, as well as the coachroof and hull windows. Although the Swan 88 is a performance maxi yacht, she features a lot of solutions that provide onboard comfort, spaciousness and functionality.

The Swan 88 has been designed to give the owners an opportunity to reduce the cost of ownership by chartering. With a total length of 26.54 m, the load line length is under 24 m, which complies with the light MCA charter regulations. The reason for this decision is that Nautor Swan strives to offer the market a true performance sailing superyacht with an opportunity for the owner to minimize running costs and simplify the charter certification process.
