Otam is going to hold the world premiere of its future flagship at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2024, along with celebrating the shipyard’s 70th anniversary
The Otam 90 GTS appeared as a result of the shipyard’s collaboration with Giuseppe Bagnardi of BG Design Firm. This partnership is not new, but each time the designers manage to realize new ideas and solutions.
This time they were inspired by the “world of racing cars”. The helm console, for example, got a carbon-fibre structure that resembles the protective "halo" system used by Formula 1 and other race cars to protect the piot’s head. However, the Otam 90 GTS uses it for a different purpose, as it helps to cool the console electronics.
The air intakes at the bow and ‘snorkel’ on the hardtop are reminiscent of high-performance luxury cars, too. And of course there are powerful twin MTU engines of 2,600 hp each, which have been thoroughly tested. In combination with the Arneson drives, they are expected to deliver up to 40-plus knots.
The hull has recently been coated in a silver metallic paint with bronze accents that was specially developed by Awlgrip company for the owner, for whom the OTAM 90 GTS is not the first yacht. At present outfitting of the interior is in progress along with the final technical works.
As for the layout, it is going to be fully custom. There are three ensuite guest cabins below deck: a full-beam master, a VIP and a double guest cabin, as well as a smll lounge area.
The main deck houses a cozy cockpit, a galley, a sunpad aft, a bathing platform and a garage for a 4.35-metre tender. There is a lounge area with a dining table and a sunpad forward.
“OTAM 90 GTS has been developed with and for the owner, so that his personality would be reflected in every detail in the Project,” says Matteo Belardinelli, OTAM Sales&Communication Manager. “Our mission is to allow our customers to be able to express themselves and enjoy the construction and design process in order to create something truly unique and never similar to others”.
