Thirteen of the strongest teams of the country from Moscow, Vladivostok, Sochi, Taganrog, Izhevsk, Gelendzhik, Tolyatti, Yevpatoria, Anapa, Ufa and St. Petersburg took part in the regatta
On Friday, the Gulf of Finland greeted the participants with a stable wind 14-16 knots, with gusts up to 20 knots. After four intense races, the winners of the previous two stages and the reigning Cup holders, Bars Sailing Team, showed the best results (9 points). Russo Trans team finished just two points behind the leader. Ptichki Sailing Team joined the top three at the end of the day, although W Sailing Team came very close to it, and both teams finished the day with a score of 16 points.
There were four more races on Saturday under rather challenging conditions, with the wind changing direction and varying from 4 to 10 knots. Bars Sailing Team managed to hold on to the top spot, extending its lead over the closest rivals, Russo Trans, by another three points. Ptichki Sailing Team was third again.
Two more races were held on the final day of the competition, but there were no dramatic changes. Bars Sailing Team once again took gold for the stage (13 points), Russo Trans finished as the third stage runner-up (19 points), while Ptichki Sailing Team got the bronze (24 points).
The final stage of the J/70 Russian Cup is scheduled to take place at Smolenka yacht port in Saint Petersburg on September 24-27.
