PROyachting announces new format for Sochi regattas

The new format regattas named Grand Marina Team Race by PROyachting will be held in Sochi Grand Marina yacht club 

As opposed to traditional races, where each boat competes for herself, the team racing format involves several yachts competing as a team and forming a common strategy in order to beat other teams with the same number of boats. When determining the winner, each yacht’s results are taken into account. The composition of the teams is determined by drawing lots.

The format is meant for experienced yachtsmen who want to improve their strategic thinking and take a new look at sailing competitions. The races will take place on modern J/70 class sailing yachts. All the volunteers are invited to participate. 

Race schedule: 

1 stage: 29 November – 1 December

2 stage: 27-29 December 

3 stage: 14-16 February 

Finals: 14-16 March
