“Stroytransgaz” announced that the construction of the largest marina in Russia in the bay of the town of Gelendzhik (Krasnodar region) is complete.

Gelendzhik Bay Marina & Resort will be capable of hosting 275 yachts, as well as cruise passenger ships.

Gelendzhik Bay is characterized by intense geodynamics and is exposed to strong winds, so to realize this project they had to construct large quays to protect it from the waves. The length of the Southern quay is 806 meters, and the Northern one is 120 metres. Dredging works have been carried out to enable hosting deep-draft vessels: now the depth in this water area reaches 7.5 meters. The total area of the marina is 14.3 hectares, including an artificially filled plot of almost 1 hectare.

As a result of the State construction supervision, “Stroytransgaz” company has already received a statement of conformity, so hopefully Gelendzhik Bay Marina will be able to berth the first yachts in the nearest future. At the same time, there is still a huge amount of work on coastal infrastructure ahead, which is to be completed by 2026. There are plans to build a hotel, apartments, restaurants, a sailing school, a year-round aquathermal complex of outdoor and indoor seawater pools and a lot more.
