According to Antonini Navi, the yard had been working with the owner for a few months, discussing every aspect of functionality for the XPD95 to feature an explorer’s exterior and the “filling” of a luxury yacht

One of the most challenging tasks was the owner’s request for the internal volume under 200 GT, as it decreases both running and administrative costs and simplifies certification and crew selection easier.

The owner really liked the brutal exterior designed by Sculli & Covini, with such typical features of an expedition vessel as a high, powerful bow, rugged trawler-type wheelhouse and open aft. However, the owner had no intention to navigate challenging waters around the world, but opted for a comfortable cruising schedule.

As a result, Antonini Navi came up with a stylistic hybrid combining the aesthetics and functional benefits of an explorer with the comfort of a cruising yacht.

The XPD95 has a length of 30 m, a beam of 7.4 м, a draft of 1.9 m and internal volume of 199 GT. The hull will be made of steel, while the superstructure will be of aluminium to ensure the vessel is robust and reliable.

The layout features a lot of non-standard solutions. For instance, there is no traditional sundeck, but one can sunbathe on the aft and forward terraces on the upper deck, as well as in the cockpit of 44 sq.m on the main deck.

The aft is a multifunctional area of 35 sq.m that can serve as a beach club at anchor and a semi-enclosed garage for a five-metre tender and water toys under way. There is a retractable swim platform, but no fold-down terraces, but there is enough space for free-standing furniture for having al fresco meals and enjoying amazing sea views.

The owner’s area’s layout is non-standard, too. Yachts of this size normally feature the owner’s apartment on the main deck, and here it was moved to the upper deck. Of about 60 sq.m, there are 25 sq.m of interior spaces and 35 m of exterior spaces.

There is currently no information about the number and configuration of guest cabins, but the interiors will be entrusted to Milan-based Hot Lab studio.

There will be two three-berth cabins for a crew of 5-7 below deck, between the guest area and the engine room. There is another cabin forward, right next to the galley and laundry. It can be used for another crew member or as an extra storage room.
