Sleek proportions, bold architectural solutions and expansive spaces of the new superyacht project are set to enhance both the level and quality of life on board
The Large Yacht Collection by ISA Yachts (part of Palumbo Superyachts) features large custom superyachts that are developed on a proven engineering platform and allow for extensive design freedom.
With a length of 86 m and a beam of 12.80 m, the Poseidon was designed in collaboration with Enrico Gobbi – Team for Design that was in charge of exterior and interior design. The naval architecture was developed by the ISA Yachts in-house technical department.
“With 14 ISA superyachts currently under construction, we are strengthening our presence at the very top end of the market, a segment in which we intend to continue investing decisively. The 86-metre Poseidon embodies this direction: a project with a strong personality, developed on a solid engineering foundation, confirming our ability to offer increasingly sophisticated and distinctive custom solutions,” said Giuseppe Palumbo, Sole Director of Palumbo Superyachts.
The key distinct feature of the project that combines elegance and generous interior spaces is a high, gently curved bow section, which reinterprets the yacht’s classic character in a contemporary style.
The superstructure has been brought aft to make the profile look more balanced and streamlined. The signature ISA arch has been refined and slimmed down to blend harmoniously into the yacht’s lines without compromising the extensive glazing and views from the interior spaces.
The exterior design alternates taut surfaces with softer geometries, creating a continuous interplay of volumes that brings movement to the overall architecture. Such details as side air intakes and the upper part of the superstructure evoke associations with the world of sports cars.
Particular attention has been given to the stern, conceived as one of the project’s most distinctive architectural features. There is a sequence of sea-facing terraces designed to offer the guests unobstructed sea views.
The beach club has two level connected by wide side staircases. The upper level features a T-shaped pool, a sunbathing area and a lounge, while the lower level is home to a bar, a glass-sided whirlpool tub and a shaded lounge. At anchor, huge fold-down side platforms can expand the area considerably and ensure constant contact with the sea even for those who choose to relax indoors. There is also a wellness centre with a gym, a sauna, a steam room, treatment facilities and massage rooms.
The main deck saloon offers a generous space for socialising, cinema and dining area, while the smart layout ensures a clear separation between guest circulation and service routes.
The upper deck is dedicated to the owner and conceived as a private retreat. The owner’s suite boasts panoramic glazing, a study, dressing room and bathroom. It has direct access to the forward outdoor area with a large swimming pool and generous sunbathing spaces. The same foredeck area can also serve as a touch-and-go helipad.
There is an indoor lounge on the upper deck aft, with sofas, entertainment area and a dining table for 14 guests. One level up, on the bridge deck, there is a panoramic sky lounge. The yard is proud it managed to integrate this spacious area into the architecture of the vessel without adding any visual weight to its profile.
The interior layout offers two configurations, with six or seven cabins accommodating up to 12 or 14 guests, respectively. The crew of 18 can be accommodated across 10 more dedicated cabins.
The Poseidon 86 will feature a steel hull and aluminium superstructure and have a draft of 3.6 m at full load. Twin MTU 16V 4000 M63L engines of 2,240 kW each will deliver a top speed of 17 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots. At a speed of 12 knots the vessel’s range will be about 5,000 nautical miles.
The superyacht will have two garages: the one at the bow is meant for a rescue tender and water toys, and the one amidships can accommodate a tender up to 9.5 metres long, in place of the gym.
The Poseidon 86 will be the fourth project in the ISA Large Yacht Collection that already includes the Amarcord 82 and Amarcord 86 created in collaboration with Nuvolari Lenard, and the Essence 82 developed together with Lobanov Design.
