The yard announced the beginning of work on the new Respect 1500 Expedition hull at the Moscow Boat Show 2026, and early in spring the keel of the vessel was laid
The steel displacement yacht with LOA of 15.15 m (13.05 LWL), a beam of 4.75 m and a draft of 1.25 m will “offer a completely new level both in terms of exterior and functionality”.
At first glance, the Respect 1500 Expedition’s exterior lines resemble the Respect 1500 OK model, but differs from it with the “trawler-like” slope of the windshield and a larger superstructure with a flybridge.
“The Real Ships Respect 1500 Expedition is a logical continuation of the Respect line. We've retained all the best features of the 1500 OK model, but have enhanced the exterior. The updated superstructure with reverse glazing and a spacious flybridge are not just functional changes: they make the vessel’s silhouette more dynamic and fresh”, said Vladimir Butuzov, the yard’s CCO.
The fuel and water capacity that have been increased up to 1,600 L and 800 L respectively, will allow the owners of the Respect 1500 Expedition to go on long-range cruises, while the additional helm station on the flybridge will ensure getting a new driving experience, better visibility and easier mooring.
Like other Real Ships yachts (with the exception of the Courage line), the Respect 1500 Expedition is a bespoke vessel. The semicustom approach allows the yard to offer individual interior solutions. Thus, the owner of the first unit opted for a three-cabin layout with a master cabin forward and two guest cabins amidships, while the galley and the dining area will be in the saloon on the main deck. There is an option of a layout with two cabins and a galley below deck, too. According to the shipyard, the new vessel’s low deck has largely inherited the ergonomics and well-tried solutions of the Respect 1500 OK model.
There are outdoor lounging spaces with sofas and tables in the cockpit and on the flybridge. There might also be a sunbathing space on the foredeck, but for now the yard does not reveal all the details of the yacht’s exterior and interior spaces, promising to unveil them at a later construction stage.
“Like other models, the Respect line was created by Dutch designer, Jan Visser. Unfortunately, he passed away several years ago, so the Respect 1500 Expedition was prepared by young and promising Russian designer, Alexander Chepurchenko”, says Vladimir Butuzov. “We can see interest in flybridge yachts of around 15 meters. At the same time, the larger fuel tank, reverse glazing and some other modifications will make long-distance cruising on the Respect 1500 Expedition more comfortable even in poor weather”.
At present, Ushakov Shipyards are working on two Voyage houseboats, Rubicon trawler, two Respect 1500 units, two Legenda yachts and several Courage vessels of various modifications.
The first unit of the new Respect 1500 Expedition model is scheduled for delivery in July 2027. According to the shipyard, the project is set to become “an evolution of comfort and broader horizons” for them.
