The length of 79.82 m and the internal volume of 2,220 GT make the Belita Palumbo Superyachts' new flagship
Previously, the flagship title was long held by the 79.9-metre Dragon superyacht built by Columbus Yachts (another Palumbo Superyachts brand) in 2019. Although the recently launched Belita is slightly shorter than the Dragon, she surpasses her in terms of gross tonnage (2,150 GT versus 2,220 GT).
The superyacht was created by Espen Øino International (exterior), Peter Marino Architect (interior), and Hydro Tec (naval architecture). Despite the length of 79.82 m, the beam of 12.50 m and the draft of 3.40 m at full load, the ISA Custom 80m Belita is quite zippy. With twin MTU 16V 4000 M65L engines of 2,240 kW each, her top speed is 18 knots.
The superyacht’s cruising speed is 14 knots, and at the economy speed of 10 knots she boasts a range of about 7,000 nautical miles. However, this data still has to be confirmed at the sea trials.
Strict and clean lines of the exterior by Espen Oino International add elegance to the superyacht’s appearance, while her elongated bow section and the superstructure brought aft “conceal” her 80-metre length visually. Large expanses of dark glazing and the open aft section cascading towards the pool and swim platform create visual continuity with the sea.
The interiors by Peter Marino Architect were shaped by the owner’s personality and, according to the yard, feature a highest degree of customisation thanks to the blend of architecture, design and craftsmanship.
“A launch is always a special moment, but seeing M/Y Belita in the water today holds particular significance for us. Behind a yacht of this scale are years of work, thousands of decisions and the contribution of hundreds of people, all united by a single objective: to achieve the highest possible standard at every stage of construction. This 80-metre yacht fully embodies our approach to construction: rigour, attention to detail and a pursuit of quality that allows no shortcuts”, said Giuseppe Palumbo, Sole Director of Palumbo Superyachts.
