At the Otam yard in Genoa the brand’s flagship from its Fast & Iconic range has hit the water
The iconic Italian shipyard specializes in luxurious high-performance custom yachts or very small series with a high level of customization. The Fast & Iconic range consists of such series ranging from 45 to 90 ft (13.5 – 27.75 m).
The Otam 90 GTS hull is made of Aramat, a multi-layer composite material combining fibreglass and Kevlar for optimal stiffness. The superstructure is made of carbon. Thanks to this super lightweight construction and twin MTU 16V2000M96L of 2600 hp each coupled with Arneson drives, the boat can reach a top speed over 40 knots.
According to Matteo Belardinelli, Otam’s sales and communications manager, “This project is generating a lot of interest because of her performance, the flexibility our custom approach offers and the fact that the yacht comes under the simpler regulations for vessels under 24 metres”.
The Otam 90 GTS range does have a huge customization potential even at the structural level. In addition to rather obvious options of a hard or a soft top, one can change the superstructure considerably. For example, one can make the side windows full or half-height, add a side door to the helm station or do without it. Even the hull can be adjusted: there is an option of one or two windows in the master suite.
The first Otam 90 GTS unit, which is scheduled to be unveiled at the Cannes festival on 10-15 Septebmer 2024, is a semi-open version with a hardtop and without side doors. The yacht’s hull features a custom silver metallic shade with bronze accents, which was specially developed by Awlgrip for the owner.
There are three cabins on board: a full-beam master suite, a VIP and another guest cabin. Besides, there is a lounge and an office below deck. The main deck features a generous cockpit and open beach areas both forward and aft.
