The delivery of the vessel is scheduled for the spring of 2025, and it will be the fourth unit in 50m Aluminium FDHF series, joining the previously launched Home, Amare II and Ela
The all-aluminium Project Orion hit the water in 2024, and ilodka.com wrote about her launch in the article named “Heesen Yachts announces launch of hybrid Project Orion”.
Project Orion features the exterior design by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects, interiors of 499 GT by Cristiano Gatto Design, a small draft of 2.1 m and a hybrid propulsion system.
The FDHF hull developed by Van Oossanen Naval Architects operates efficiently at different speeds with twin MTU 12V 2000 M61 engines (1631 hp), compliant with IMO III.
The provisional top speed of the vessel is 16.3 knots. At a cruising speed of 12 knots the fuel consumption will not exceed 98 liters per hour, excluding hotel load, while at 10 knots in the hybrid mode it can go down to 45 liters per hour.
The yacht can accommodate up to 12 guests across six cabins. The master suite is located on the main deck forward, while below deck in addition to ordinary guest cabins there is also a full-beam (9.10 m) VIP cabin.
The designers describe the vessel's interior style as “comfort in luxury”. There are over 35 different types of high-gloss woods, leather, marbles and custom carpets, large windows and interplay of colours and shapes, creating the atmosphere of a contemporary comfortable house on the water.
One of the superyacht’s highlights is the wellness centre with an area of 26 sq.m, featuring a sauna, a gym and a lounge with direct access to the swim platform.
The 77-metre sundeck offers a sunbathing area, a bar, a dining area in the shade of a hardtop and a whirlpool, located in a way that provides more privacy when the yacht is docked.
At present the shipyard is preparing the yacht for sea trials and delivery to her owner.
