At the world’s largest pavilion boat show taking place from 18 to 26 January in Düsseldorf, the most compact of Italian Invictus Yacht’s models, the Invictus GT280, has been unveiled in a full-carbon version. And according to the shipyard, it is not only about the impressive exterior design. The Invictus GT280 Carbon Look represents “a significant technological advancement and a major leap forward in the shipyard's production processes”, which will definitely influence all future Invictus models development.

In the automotive and boating industries, carbon is frequently used for a merely visual effect and is often reproduced with the help of films imitating the signature weave of the material. The thing is that this material that is extremely lightweight and robust is a real challenge to work with.

The Invictus GT280 Carbon Look highlights the fact that the manufacturing and design limitations have finally been overcome. This new one-off edition celebrates production of hull number 300 of the Invictus GT280, which marked the debut of Invictus Yacht on the market back in 2015.

“The decision to use carbon fiber wasn’t made merely to enhance the model's appearance,” explains Rosario Alcaro, General Manager of Invictus Yacht. “Rather, it is the result of a study aimed at improving our construction process. Thanks to carbon fiber, we’ve been able to enhance the material’s technical, structural and visual properties, leading to a better aesthetic quality and improved performance. Specifically, the 'pre-preg' (pre-impregnated) technology enables us to reduce the weight between the hull and deck by about 50%, which translates into a 40% reduction in the boat's overall displacement. This allows us to maintain the same mechanical strength, reliability and rigidity, while also reducing fuel consumption by using smaller engines without sacrificing performance.”

The Invictus GT 280 Carbon Look unit unveiled at boot Düsseldorf 2025 features a transparent coating revealing the weave of carbon fiber. The deck is quite conventional, finished in teak and light shades, which is quite practical on hot summer days and creates a striking contrast with the black hull.

The key elements that made the Invictus GT 280 model so successful for years remain unchanged. She is an elegant compact 8.9-metre boat with a premium finish and numerous exquisite details. The Invictus GT 280 Carbon Look’s engine room is home to the Volvo Penta V8 gasoline engine of 300 hp.
