The new Italian shipyard’s flagship managed to reach a top speed of 45 knots during the trials, exceeding the expectations specified in the contract by three knots
We have already written about the launch of this boat, which took place in May 2024. And now the Genoa-based yard has announced that the sea trials are over and Sexy Me has even exceeded both the yard’s and the owner’s expectations.

During the sea trials Sexy Me managed to reach a top speed of 45 knots, which is three knots faster than the provisional speed. Two powerful 2600 hp MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines coupled with Arneson surface drives, as well as a lightweight composite hull of GRP and Kevlar designed by Umberto Tagliavini from Marine Design & Service – all of this helps the Otam 90 GTS demonstrate outstanding performance, responsiveness and handling characteristics.
At the owner’s request, Sexy Me was equipped with a custom gangway, stabilizers, an advanced stereo system with a dedicated rack room and many more. Both interior and exterior spaces feature a lot of marble finishing.
Thanks to excellent sound insulation, the manufacturers managed to achieve silence at all speeds despite the fact that the boat is open aft.
Giuseppe Bagnardi and his BG Design Firm that were involved in the Otam 90 GTS design made sure that there are as many tailor-made details on board as possible. For instance, the helm console features a carbon-fibre element similar to the protective “halo” system (an extra safety arch) used by Formula 1 and other racing cars. On board the Otam 90 GTS it helps to cool the electronic devices inside the console.
The hull’s metallic silver paint with bronze accents was specially developed by Awlgrip company for the owner to reflect the boat’s personality.
The layout of the yacht is full custom. There are three cabins below deck. The master suite is full-beam, and there is also a VIP and a third guest cabin. The guests can relax in a lounge with a stereo system below deck, but the main space meant for the guests is in a generous cockpit on the main deck, with an opening hard top and a dinette. There is also a large sunpad next to the swim platform and lounging and sunbathing spots on the foredeck, too.
The access to the galley is separated from the VIP area, as well as the access to the crew quarters in order to minimize the guests and crew pathways intersection.
Sexy Me has a garage for a 4.35-metre tender, but it can be both decreased and increased in length. According to the yard, the Otam 90 GTS may come in a two or four-cabin version and with an enclosed saloon on the main deck.
The world debut for the first Otam 90 GTS is scheduled for the Cannes Yachting Festival 2024.
