The all-aluminium superyacht was designed with all the capabilities and potential of a performance cruiser in mind
Following the 70-metre concept named Opal that ilodka.com has already told you about, Dutch designers created another interesting vessel.
The first renderings demonstrate a muscular yet elegant hull with a sharp bow and clearly structured profile. The pure shape and large expanses of glazing add airiness and dynamics to the exterior, while the wheelhouse with a forward-sloping trawler-type screen hints at the widest range of climates and waters accessible to the Apex.
Technically, the project is based on the Mulder High Speed Cruising hull form, designed with a focus on high performance and wide operational opportunities. In other words, the yacht was designed “to operate comfortably and efficiently” and allows both for transoceanic passages and short high-speed cruises.
Twin MTU diesel engines with a total power of 11,532 hp can deliver a top speed of up to 28 knots, a cruising speed of 22 knots and a range of up to 4,500 nautical moles in the economy mode of 12 knots.
The lightweight full-aluminium hull has a length of 60 m, a beam of 10.7 m and a draft of 2.6 m, which is quite enough for accommodating comfortably up to 12 guests and a crew of 14.
Mulder Design developed the Apex’s exterior, architecture and engineering inhouse, while the interior designed can be tailored to the owner’s needs and preferences.
