The launch of the first Sunseeker Ocean 156 has taken place at the yard's facility in Poole, and the yacht’s delivery is expected a little later this year
The exterior design and naval architecture of the Ocean 156 were all penned in-house, while the interiors were entrusted to Design Unimited studio.
One of the new boat’s features is the absence of a helm station on the main deck, where the yard suggests locating either a master suite or a lounge with access to the foredeck.
There is another compact saloon on the upper deck next to the helm, which can serve either as a cinema or a sky lounge. Most of the spaces at this level are exterior, and in addition to a U-shaped sofa forward, the guests can also relax in a generous aft lounge with a bar and free-standing furniture.
One should note that the galley on the main deck can be either open or closed off from the saloon completely. The first option makes the entire deck a single space with extra bar areas, while the second one allows one to get more privacy and entrust cooking to the crew, accommodated in two cabins aft with a separate access.
Depending on the configuration, there can be four or five comfortable cabins for eight to ten guests.
“We are incredibly proud to introduce the Sunseeker Ocean 156, a true embodiment of our vision for the future of luxury yachting. We are excited to see the Ocean 156 set new standards in the industry, and we warmly invite our owners, industry colleagues and friends to experience the Ocean 156 at the Southampton International Boat Show this September”, said Andrea Frabetti, CEO of Sunseeker International.
The Ocean 156 can be powered by MAN V8 1300 engines, as well as more powerful V12 1650 ones, capable of delivering a provisional top speed of 25 knots and a range of 900 nautical miles.
The model’s official debut is scheduled for the Southampton International Boat Show in September.
