The shipyard refers to the Zeelander 8 as “a stylish new mini superyacht” and promises a high level of customization, full comfort for up to nine guests, and a top speed of about 40 knots combined with a low level of noise
The largest to date model by the Dutch shipyard will join the line of yachts featuring original design that Zeelander Yachts has always been known for. Moreover, the manufacturer has also managed to make the interior spaces more generous, which allows them to name the Zeelander 8 a superyacht, although her length is a little under 24 metres.
“Our newest model, the Zeelander 8, surpasses its on-paper expectations, showcasing an even more impressive presence in real life. Its timeless design remains uniquely Zeelander, blending classic elegance with modern innovation,” said founder and owner Sietse Koopmans.
Despite all the family resemblance, the new Zeelander 8 has an even more flowing sheerline. The exterior by Cor D. Rover Design features almost no straight lines, while the graceful stern and somewhat vintage style wrap-around windscreen make the boat look even more elegant.
In the cockpit there is a bar with chairs and a lounging area with sofas and a coffee table, which can also be used as a beach club, when a large transom platform folds down and turns into a 12 sq. meter bathing platform. Another exterior lounge is available forward, with a large table surrounded by sofas on two sides, which creates a cozy nest. There is also a small sunpad for those who love soaking up the sun.
“When designing the Zeelander I was heavily inspired by the timeless beauty of New England and its lobster boats as well as the classic fast commuter yachts that business tycoons used every morning to commute from their Long Island estates to their Wall Street offices,” said Cor D. Rover. “That inspiration combined with state-of-the-art technology and next-level luxury standards led to the epitome of beauty and style that Zeelander is today and will be for years to come.”
With a beam of 6.6 metres the interior spaces are quite generous. The yard decided to make the saloon as open as possible and unite a few areas visually. All the interior space of the main deck is one single open space with a U-shaped sofa on the starboard side followed by the dining area. There is a stylish galley stretched along the port side opposite. The helm station is separated with a glass panel and is moved a little towards the starboard to free up more space for the access to the lower deck.
Below deck there are three cabins for six guests and a crew of three. The full-beam mast suite boasts an elegant bathroom, a small office and ample storage space. Two more ensuite VIP cabins with double beds are located opposite each other along the sides.
The full-beam side tender garage separates the master suite from the engine room, and in addition to Williams 395 Sportjet can accommodate a couple of seabobs and other water toys.
With four Volvo Penta D13 IPS 1200 engines the yacht’s top speed is 35-37 knots, and the cruising speed is 29 knots. With more powerful Volvo Penta D13 IPS 1350, she can exceed 40 knots.
The layouts of the key areas like the cockpit, saloon and guest cabins, as well as the standard finishes, can be customized in accordance with the owner’s individual needs.
Zeelander Yachts welcomes any reasonable customer requests that may be related to different kinds of leather, lighting or carpets.
Moreover, the Dutch shipbuilders have paid a lot of attention to the guests’ calm comfort and implemented latest technologies decreasing the level of noise and vibration on board. Thus, at full speed the level of noise on board does not ever exceed the 65 dBa barrier, while the usual threshold for a normal conversation is around 72dBa.
With a fuel capacity of 8000 L at seven knots the yacht has a range of about 1050 nautical miles, and up to 455 nautical miles at 26 knots. But these are the indicators for the optional engines that power the recently launched Zeelander 8 unit.
