Just like the previous LY 650 model, the new yacht will be manufactured by a contractor, and not by the Japanese carmaker itself
And the contractor has changed: American Marquis Yachts that handled the LY 650 production has been replaced with Taiwanese Horizon Group, entrusted with the LY680 production.
The design of the model with a beam of 5.76 m largely repeats the one created for the LY 650. It is easy to recognize the features of Lexus cars and the same L-finesse philosophy in the LY 680 exterior, while the concept of the yacht is to “to feel like a hideout in the middle of the sea, providing a space where discerning customers can feel free and at ease”.
Compared to the LY 650, the area of the flybridge and swimming platform have been extended to provide the guests with more space for enjoyment and relaxation.
The flybridge that has increased by 140 cm features a spacious lounge sofa and a barbecue grill. The swimming platform has increased by 70 cm and now can be used not only for activities by the water, but for carrying a jet ski, too.
At the entrance to the saloon there is galley used to serve both the dining room with a custom table, and the cockpit. There is a small sofa and two sunpads on the foredeck.
The lower deck houses three cabins including a full-beam master apartment with a large bed and a lounge. There is a VIP cabin forward, and another double cabin next to it.
The interiors feature mainly varnished wood that contrasts beautifully with the light floor, walls and ceilings. A lot of attention has been paid to the details of leather and metal, but on the whole the finish is all about the signature Lexus style.
The yacht will be powered by twin Volvo IPS 1050 or 1350 of 800 or 1000 hp each, and the fuel capacity will be 4012 litres. There is no exact data about the top speed yet, but one can assume that it will be under 31 knots with the most powerful engines.
