Project 21150, or Sophia, is a high-performance semi-displacement yacht of aluminium from the 50m Aluminium Semi-displacement series, which stands out for efficient fuel consumption and excellent performance charactertistics
The yacht’s sporty exterior lines were designed by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects, and the interior was entrusted to Cristiano Gatto. Sophia’s hard-chine shallow draft hull was designed by Heesen's in-house naval architects, and 20 to 40 experienced craftsmen worked n welding the hull.
Thanks to the propeller tunnel recessed into the hull and a light construction, this almost 50-metre yacht’s draft is just 2.15 m, which extends the area of her operation to shallow waters. The underwater body design enhances her efficiency, too: accordint to the yard, Project Sophia is 12% more fuel-efficient compared to traditional yachts of the same size and conventional design.
The yacht is equipped with twin MTU 16V 4000 M65L engines compliant with IMO Tier III and allowing her to reach a top speed of 23 knots. At 11 knots the range is 3100 nautical miles.
The yacht offers five cabins for 12 guests. The master cabin . The master suite located on the main deck forward provides necessary privacy, while the four guest cabins below deck ensure ample space for family and friends.
Cristiano Gatto’s interior design showcases a harmonious blend of sophistication, functionality and aesthetic appeal. Thanks to a meticulous selection of materials, colours and textures, Gatto creates a space that creates a sense of refined luxury. As they explain it at Heesen Yachts, “just as the name Sophia resonates with wisdom, the interior design project named after it seeks to evoke a sense of intellectual depth and discernment”.
With a length of 49.98 m and a beam of 9 m, the superyacht’s internal design is 499 GT, the interior area is 324 sq.m, and the outdoor space is about 250 sq.m.
