The unprecedented 320-metre Ulyssia project was first unveiled at the Monaco Yacht Show in September 2024
The superyacht conceived as the world’s most exclusive residential space continuously travelling around the world was designed by renowned Espen Øino. Construction of the giant was entrusted to German Meyer Werft, one of the world’s largest and most modern shipyards.

The designers of the vessel emphasize the fact that the Ulyssia is fundamentally different from cruise ships. This allegedly largest yacht in the world will be travelling on the itineraries chosen by the owners, who own the ship in perpetuity and proportionate to the footage they have bought. It is not yet clear, however, how they will reach consensus, but over the last year the Ulyssia’s team has been conducting consultations all over the world for all those interested.

About half of the residences on board the Ulyssia have already been sold. There are 133 of them and they range in area from 110 to 953 sq.m. Inside, there may be one to six bedrooms, kitchens, lounges and private terraces. There are also 22 guest suites, which can be used for other family members and visitors.

The interiors are customizable. The standard version will be developed by FM Architettura studio, while other designers will be invited to individualize the apartments, including Sabrina Monte Carlo, Reémi Tessier and even Lenny Kravitz (yes, that very musician and actor who founded Kravitz Design in New York in 2003).

The sport and spa centres, as well as dental care on board the Ulyssia will be entrusted to Swiss Chenot company. Other medical services, including X-ray, MRA and CT, will also be available. All of this resembles the plot of “2012” movie, because the Ulyssia is in fact expected to become an autonomous island for quite wealthy people’s beautiful life. Restaurants and wine cellars, a threatre and a library, courts, swimming pools, jogging tracks, and a golf club, Triton submersibles and even a yacht club with its own marina.

The yacht boasts rather a shallow draft to be able to cruise the Amazon and other large rivers, and her dimensions allow her to navigate the Panama Canal and under bridges. The designers have also promised to make the Ulyssia really eco-friendly: she will be powered by a hybrid propulsion system that can work on various kinds of fuel, solar panels and batteries.

The Ulyssia is a project of unprecedented complexity. The people involved in her creation have previously worked on another “floating residence”, The World, launched in 2022, which is “just” 196 m long. To ensure comfortable life on board the Ulyssia there will be a crew of 327, as well as 40 people shoreside.
