The concept of the Atlas expedition vessel boasts a number of distinct features and is meant for ultra-adventurous owners
The exterior created by Italian Hot Lab studio is a combination of a traditional superyacht and an expedition vessel. Thanks to the rugged shapes and some extra visual elements, the designers managed to convey the power and functionality, while retaining elegance and luxury.

According to the designers, the vessel with an internal volume under 500 GT, a range of 5000 nautical miles and a speed of over 16 knots, is capable of going anywhere, while her interior spaces with floor-to-ceiling windows and their smooth transitions to exterior areas can be tailored to her owner’s needs.
One of the Atlas’s highlights is the lounge area on the foredeck. It is split level and equipped with a spa pool, sunbathing and lounging areas. What is particularly valuable is that the owner can access it right from their suite located on the main deck forward.

Four guest cabins located below deck have not been left out of attention and have access to the beach club with a bar, a lounge and sunpads. Its area for relaxation by the water gets even larger, when the side terraces fold down.
“The effect of this is a resort-like atmosphere where those on board can move seamlessly between socialising, on-water activities and relaxation,” comments Enrico Lumini, Design Director and co-founder of Hot Lab.

In addition to the dining area, lounge and sunbathing areas, the sundeck is home to an infinity pool with panoramic views of the sea, while a level lower the guests are offered a versatile area aft, perfect for having breakfast, with a bar, armchairs and sofas.
The vessel’s Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDFH) by Van Oossanen Naval Architects will ensure efficiency at different speeds. The Atlas can be powered both with a traditional or a hybrid propulsion system with solar panels.

Among other features of the concept, one should mention a large tender garage with a side-launch system and an opportunity to carry lots of various water toys and equipment on board, as well as arranging a helipad.
“Intelligent design features are found on every deck – from her transformable stern to her multi-tiered terraces. Our talented shipyard team are looking forward to making these into a reality in steel and aluminium!” said Piraye Şahinkaya Orhun, Yacht Projects Director at ARES Yachts.
