The planing steel Fast50 superyacht model with an aggressive sport-car profile was first unveiled in February 2024
The new model seems to embody all the features that made its successful models like the Pachamama, Monokini and Rush (World Superyacht Award winner) so popular, as well as the most interesting design elements from its T-line.
The integration of all these elements and accumulated expertise into the new Fast50 was handled by a proven team including Pierluigi Ausonio, who designed the naval architecture, Francesco Paszkowski, who created the exterior styling. He also worked on the interior design in collaboration with Margherita Casprini.
Numerous references to the automotive design are not restricted to the aerodynamic profile. There are also air intakes integrated to the stern fairleads and the hull colour of “Porsche Chalk” shade created using a custom Boero paint cycle.
The yacht features a split-level aft inspired by the T52 series: the fold-down bulwarks increase the area of the beach club at anchor, while the transformer swim platform replaces a conventional passerelle, preserving the purity of the vessel’s lines. There is also a stern garage, designed with a flooding launch system and capable of accommodating a tender up to 7 m in length. The second side garage for water toys is located forward.
The full-height windows on the sides of both the main and upper decks (similar to the T-line) ensure connection between the interior and exterior spaces, while the signature “cut-out” bulwarks enhance the visibility and contact with the sea.
With a length of 49.9 m and a beam of 9 m, the yacht has an internal volume of 499 GT. There are five guests, including the owner’s suite, two VIP-cabins and two twin cabins with extra Pullman beds. The three decks offer generous exterior spaces and two saloons.
The modern interior features mainly light colours with some lacquered “burnt” oak surfaces for contrast. To reduce the weight of the vessel the designers did not use marble and natural stones much, and even the exterior handrails are made of lightweight titanium.
Four MTU 2000 M96L engines deliver a top speed of 30 knots and a cruising speed of 22-24 knots, while the semi-tunnel hull ensures excellent performance and a draft of 1.8 – 2.18 m, allowing for navigating shallow waters safely.
“With the FAST50, we wanted to reinterpret Baglietto’s most authentic DNA – that of the large, high-performance aluminium yachts that shaped the shipyard’s history – translating it into a contemporary platform capable of combining performance, comfort and extraordinary liveability,” said Fabio Ermetto, Chief Commercial Officer at Baglietto, at the launching ceremony. This project perfectly represents our vision: sporty yachts with a strong identity, yet architecturally and technically advanced, and deeply tailored around the owner’s lifestyle.”
