The new vessel has already set a few records, as it is not only the yard’s largest composite vessel, but also the largest in the semi-displacement line of the brand to date

The yacht’s voliume of 420 GT allows the shipyard to speak of “unprecedented” internal volume for yachts of similar dimensions. This has largely been achieved thanks to the asymmetric solutions that the shipyard has already applied on other Sanlorenzo yachts. However, one should not forget the significance of such parameters as length and beam, which are 40.7 m and 8.47 m respectively.

“We are thrilled with the launch of the SD132 project, which embodies the perfect combination of significant size, innovative design, and timeless elegance, in true Sanlorenzo style. The exceptional market response has been confirmed by the five contracts already signed before the launch, demonstrating the great success and appreciation this yacht is receiving among owners,” said Tommaso Vincenzi, President of Sanlorenzo’s Yacht Business Unit. “Every detail of the SD132 reflects the dedication and passion of our team, which has once again sought to challenge traditional limits related to onboard space and volume, achieving a remarkable result”.

One of the SD132’s standout features is the innovative use of space. Thus, the shipyard has reimagined beach area  configuration by connecting it to the aft cockpit.  With the fold-down side terraces and transom now there are about 70 sq.m of space right by the sea, as well as a panoramic-view terrace in the cockpit.

The sun deck is home to about 85 sq.m of diverse areas like a bar, a lounge, sunpads and sun loungers, while the foredeck one level lower offers another exterior space for sunbathing with a mini pool, a sunbed, armchairs and cocktail tables.

The exterior design is owed to Zuccon International Project that the yard has been collaborating with for years. The feeling of  visual harmony that the designers wanted to achieve was also meant to balance the asymmetry: there is no walkway on the main deck starboard side, and it is the other way around on the upper deck. This solution allowed the designers to increase interior space, as well as to balance the weight distribution.

The SD132 can accommodate up to 10 guests and a crew of eight. Below deck, there are four guest cabins and a crew area with a dinette and a laundry. The owner’s suite with an office and a large dressing room occupies the area of 55 sq.m on the main deck forward. This level is also home to a galley and a spacious saloon with a dining area, a lounge and expansive windows.

There is another, more compact saloon on the upper deck, which looks great for socializing, playing games or watching movies. There is also a helm station and captain’s cabin here.

“The interiors reflect the stylistic journey undertaken by the Studio, aimed at enhancing a sense of naturalness and establishing a sensory connection between the owner and the yacht. A material moodboard and earth-inspired colors create authentic, balanced, and welcoming environments. The exteriors also demonstrate a commitment to research: innovative layout solutions and technological flexibility seamlessly integrate the yacht with the surrounding nature, emphasizing the livability of the spaces," commented Bernardo Zuccon.

The use of soft shades and textures, the choice of sustainable and natural materials, as well as the focus on sensory engagement and tactile experience – all of this arsenal was used by the designers to give the guests a unique new experience on board.

This kind of philosophy is reinforced by the use of stone-like cement finish, as well as the furnishings in the bathroom and the owner’s suite, featuring a surefire combination of dark and light woods. The same approach was applied to fabric selection, creating a distinctive and warm atmosphere.

The details about the first SD132’s propulsion have not been revealed yet. There will most likely be a choice of twin diesel CAT C32 engines of 1622 hp each, or 1650 hp twin MAN V12 engines. The provisional top speed is about 17 knots, and the range is around 3200 nautical miles at 11 knots. But the first Sanlorenzo SD132 unit will still have to confirm this data in the course of the upcoming sea trials.
