The Ax8 family cruiser is the pioneer in the new Ax line of crossover boats that the yard characterizes as “comfortable and safe, ideal for long voyages”
The new model can offer its owners a contemporary style both outside and inside, as well as comfortable, functional and well-lit spaces thanks to large windows. Cristiano Gatto, who was in charge of interiors, created an original mix of materials and solutions that combine elegance, brightness, freshness and modernity.
Just like many other crossovers, the Ax8 helm station has been raised to the enclosed flybridge to free up more space and create continuity and single space of the dining room and the saloon on the main deck. In the standard layout version there is also a galley here, but as an option it can be located below deck.
There is another compact but multifunctional saloon on the flybridge next to the helm station. Four cabins below deck can accommodate up to eight guests.
The full-beam 6.22-metre wide master cabin amidships is separated from the engine room by a generous bathroom. The VIP cabin is traditionally located forward, and there is one double and one twin cabin between them. There is also an option of a three-cabin layout and separate quarters for a crew of four (two cabins and a galley).
For al fresco living there is a lounge with a sofa and a table on the foredeck, and another lounge on the main deck aft, next to the exterior dining area. The flybridge houses a sunpad with a bar, sun loungers and other free-standing furniture.
The aft platform is spacious enough to serve as a comfortable lounging area by the water, as well as for tender storage. Moreover, it can be used both to make it easier for the guests to enter the water and to launch and retrieve a tender.
The Ax8’s provisional top speed is 23.5 knots, and the range is 420 nautical miles.
Apart from the Ax8, Astondoa is also planning to showcase its As5 flybridge and a stylish 12-metre 377 Coupe cruiser.
