The first Forte 47 Gran Turismo yacht has completed her sea trials successfully, reaching a top speed of 47 knots
The full aluminium model with a beam of 4.5 m and a draft of 0.85 m is the result of collaboration with the top-class designers and engineers. The concept, exterior and interior are owed to Paolo Giordano Yacht Design, while the naval architecture was entrusted to Umberto Tagliavini Marine Design that also worked on engineering, together with West Navaltech.
According to the shipyard, the Forte 47 Gran Turismo can be considered a mini superyacht, as she offers “best-in-class liveability with over 40m² of outdoor living space and spacious interiors”.
At anchor, the fold-down side wings turn the cockpit into an open platform above the water with a lounge, a sofa and a transformable table sheltered with a hardtop. There is also a kitchen island to port.
In the evening the area can be transformed into an outdoor cinema: there is a large flatscreen TV that extends silently from a cabinet behind the pilot seats, its speakers carefully hidden from view. There is also a fridge and icemaker built into the bar within easy reach.
There are sunbathing areas both aft and forward, and the helm station has been moved to starboard to open the access to the foredeck and down to the guest cabins.
Up to five guests can be accommodated across two suites below deck, and both of them – as well as the one for three amidships and the owner’s foreword, feature dedicated bathrooms and wardrobes.
“It is very unusual to find two cabins each with their own bathroom on a luxury yacht in this segment. This is a feature normally reserved for different boats, and one of the Forte 47's strongest selling points. And for the interior to offer both good headroom and excellent storage is a triumph. We fully expect this generous layout to appeal strongly to both younger owners and families,” said designer Paolo Giordano.
The first Forte 47 Gran Turismo is powered by three 600 hp outboard Mercury Verado V12 engines, but there is also a Lounge Deck version with inboard Volvo Penta IPS. Despite being less powerful (with a top speed of 37 knots), the latter is more comfortable thanks to the additional lounge area aft and a hydraulic swim platform.
“Our goal was to create a yacht that delivers the quality, craftsmanship and engineering typically found on much larger yachts, while offering owners an exceptional level of personalisation. Thanks to its all-aluminium construction, we have the freedom to tailor the layout and living spaces around each owner's lifestyle,” said Fernando Moricca, Forte Yachts co-owner & business manager.
