Two world premieres for Princess Yachts at Cannes Festival: S80 and S65
According to the shipyard, the new models will appeal to the owners searching for speed, fun, and excitement and refusing to compromise on comfort, space and flexibility
The flagship of Princess sport yacht range, the S80, features dynamic and elegant exterior lines. The main deck layout offers maximum outdoor living space with a seamless integration of interior and exterior spaces.
The central stairway divides the cockpit with two large sunpads, sofas and tables into two parts. There is also a dining area with a teak table here, sheltered from the sun and the wind. It is positioned next to the galley and is visually integrated with the saloon. The idea behind the cockpit layout is to offer the guests a perfect space to spend as much time here as possible and enjoy the views and contact with the sea.
The foredeck terrace with two U-shaped seating areas is a really popular feature from the Y80 model. This is an elegant solution for the owners tired of ubiquitous sunpads in this area.
The sportbridge fits into the profile harmoniously and has an area of 28.7 sq.m. The central position of the helm station is a clear hint at the sport character of the boat, while comfortable seating both next to the helm and aft allows one to assume that handling the boat at high speeds will be an exhilarating experience both for the captain and the guests.
The accommodation is quite traditional: there is a full-beam master suite amidships, a VIP cabin forward, a twin and a double on the sides. There is a two-berth crew cabin next to the 4.35-metre tender garage, but other crew quarters layout options are available, too.
The yacht will be powered by twin MAN V12 of 1900 and 2000 hp with a provisional speed of 34 knots (for more powerful engines) plus an optional 7000-litre fuel tank, vector fin and gyro stabilisation options.
“The Princess S80 is a Princess above all else with a distinct S Class personality defined by its S hull graphic, strong graphical canopy features and powerful bulwark haunches. We have designed the S80 to sit proudly as the flagship of the S class range,” said Andy Lawrence, Executive Director of Design & Development at Princess Yachts.
Just like the S80, the S65’s design was created in-house in collaboration with naval architects Olesinski and Italian Pininfarina designers. The large sportbridge is almost hidden in the profile, and a large sliding sunroof above the helm fills the saloon with light and fresh sea air.
There is a large sunpad above the 3.3-metre tender garage, followed by a U-shaped sofa with a folding table.
The foredeck offers a traditional combination of a sofa with a table and a sunbathing area with two sunpads, while the sportbridge is home to twin helm seats, sofas and a dining table for al fresco meals.
The interior space of the main deck is a galley at the entrance and a dinette opposite, as well as a small lounge next to the helm station.
There are four cabins below deck. The master suite is located amidships, there is a VIP cabin forward, and a stwin and a bunk bed cabin on the starboard and port side respectively. There is also a crew cabin aft.
The shipyard offers the S65 either with twin MAN V8 1200 engines, or more powerful MAN V8 1400, delivering a top speed of 34-36 knots.
In addition to the two premiere models, Princess Yachts is showcasing six more boats at the Cannes Festival, but the exact line-up has not been revealed yet.
