This summer Wally, which is part of Ferretti Group, is going to deliver two new “exceptional” sailing boats, which are absolutely different in their characteristics

The 33.42-metre Wallywind 110 has already entered the outfitting stage and is due to be launched in June 2024. Her all-carbon hull painted luminous metallic blue changes slightly depending on the lighting. It was laminated on a female mould and requires very little finishing.

Prior to the launch the shipyard has to deal with a hard task of delivering the yacht to the sea, which is 40 km away. Although both the Wally team and the residents of Forlì are familiar with this kind of operation, it will still require some careful preparation to avoid overhanging tree branches and road signs where necessary. As soon as she is unloaded in Marina di Ravenna, the Wallywind 110 will receive her 6.95m telescopic keel, one-piece carbon fibre twin rudders and her towering 48m Hall Spars rig.

As all the main technical systems have already been tested at the shipyard, all they have to do is put the new boat through her sailing paces in a series of challenging sea trials. According to the yard, she will be an exceptional hybrid cruiser, capable of roaming the globe or taking part in big races – all without sacrificing the comforts of the yachting lifestyle.

One of the striking features of the Wallywind 110 is a huge cockpit of 80 sq.m., meant exclusively for relaxation, as all the sail controls are positioned aft. The second hull of the model is already on order and its construction is about to start.

Despite the smaller size of 15.5 metres (51 ft) the Wallyrocket 51 has all the chances of becoming a “giant” of the racing world and to outperform the iconic TP52. Wally is aiming to build nothing less than “the world’s fastest race boat on corrected time”. She is due to be unveiled in August 2024, and there are already six hulls in production.

“The year 2024 is going to be massive for Wally’s sailing history,” said Wally Managing Director Stefano de Vivo. (This year the shipyard is celebrating its 30th anniversary – Editor’s note). “We’re intensely busy finishing these two very different yachts and starting to build additional hulls of both. The wallywind110 is destined to deliver fast, ambitious cruising wherever in the world her owner wants to take her, while the wallyrocket51 is an all-out racing machine that will revolutionise regattas for passionate owners. What they both share, however, is Wally’s total commitment to innovative solutions, jaw-droppingly attractive looks and a quality that is unmatched”.
