Just like the Otam 90 GTS christened Sexy Me, which is the pioneer of the Otam 90 series, the new yachts appeared as a result of the shipyard’s collaboration with Giuseppe Bagnardi and his BG Design Firm, as well as Umberto Tagliavini and Aldo Scorzoni from Marine Design & Services, who designed the water lines.
The shipyard confirms that the success of the Otam 90 GTS named Sexy Me inspired them to add the new models, but insists that these boats are meant for different clients.
“Each version adapts to specific needs: the ‘SEXY ME’ GTS, for example, can be used as a Day Boat or Party Boat, while the Hard Top is suitable for more classic/family trips or even charters, with a closed lounge and a hard top on the main deck. Last but not least, the T-Top is designed as a pure open chase boat for mega yachts, where extreme customisation is crucial,” said Matteo Belardinelli, OTAM’s Sales and Communication Manager.
All the models can be tailored to particular customers’ needs, and there is even a special department at the yard, Otam Co-Design Lab, which can help the owners adjust their boat to their preferences. It does not refer to the colour of décor only, but to far more essential changes like the internal and external layouts. For example, there can be two to four guest cabins, or a a separate galley and accommodation for four crew members.
According to Matteo Belardinelli, the ceiling height throughout the lower deck is 2.10 m, and there are no steps and changes in height, as they create unnecessary risks and annoy the guests. The weight distribution has been meticulously designed, allowing the shipyard to use lateral structural glass in single oversized pieces.
The GTS and the Hard-Top versions feature a large sliding roof, which allows one to fill the interior with the sea wind, sun and water spray. These boats offer an opportunity of uniting the saloon with a cockpit with the help of a “disappearing” side panel.
The open T-Top can be used as a chase boat for megayachts, for day trips or as guest transport. According to the shipyard, it is a perfect model for those who love the feel of an open boat, but would like to make it more comfortable and suitable for longer journeys as well.
Wide walkways, fold-out bulwarks in the cockpit, beach club with a swimming platform, a shower and a small sofa right by the sea, as well as a spacious lounge on the foredeck – all three Otam 90 models can boast these features.
The shipyard has not yet revealed the technical characteristics of its new models, but they are unlikely to be worse than those of the already launched Sexy Me, which can reach a top speed of 45 knots.
