Southern Wind has officially unveiled its new flagship, the SW123, the construction on which is already well underway
The design and architecture were penned by Farr Yacht Design in collaboration with Nauta Design. According to the shipyard, the SW123 will become the lightest performance cruiser in her range, ensuring a perfect balance between comfort and high speed.

“The SW123 is based on a versatile design platform that can be adapted to suit her owner’s expectations and intended usage,” said Andrea Micheli, Southern Wind CCO. “Whether the preference is for a long-range bluewater cruiser, regatta champion or successful charter yacht, the SW123 can be optimized to match the design brief of the Owner’s dream yacht. Following the Smart Custom philosophy, the initial platform has been created so that Owners can adapt certain features to their objective while leaving the reliable and tested base structure untouched."

Thanks to the success of the SW108 Smart Custom, the SW123 will also be available in different sail plans, keel and deck configurations. The owner will naturally be able to choose different interior styles and layouts to give each yacht her own unique personality.

The hull shape of the SW123 has been designed to accommodate a twin rudder configuration with either a lifting or a telescopic keel, ensuring a draft of 3.85 m to 5.9 m. The wide aft section allows for more internal volume and an exceptionally generous aft cockpit.

The transom can unfold in two ways. The first one transforms the yacht’s aft section into a beach club and an ample garage, which can accommodate a tender of 5.35 m like a Castoldi Jet Tender 17 or Williams Sportjet 540, capable of carrying up to 10 people. The second option, named the Seaside Lounge, extends the beach club and swim platform area significantly.

Below deck there is a spacious main saloon and four double cabins for the owner and the guests. They are all versatile and can be tailored to different needs and serve as an office or equipped as a gym or a sauna. There are also three cabins for a crew of five or six people aft.
The SW123 can be powered with a conventional IMO Tier III compliant diesel propulsion system, or a serial hybrid one. The first unit is scheduled for delivery in February 2027.
