The keel of a 32-metre explorer superyacht Hanaa has been laid in an official ceremony at Italian Antonini Navi shipyard

A private keel-laying ceremony took place at Antonini Navi facility in the Italian city of La Spezia. The fully custom explorer yacht Hanaa, or Explorer Yacht 32M, is the result of the Italian shipyard’s collaboration with Sergio Cutolo’s Hydro Tec company (naval architecture, exterior and layouts) and Milan-based Hot Lab studio that was in charge of interior style.

The owner who attended the ceremony made a symbolic contribution to the project by welding the first section of the future hull. According to the shipyard, the steelwork is to be finished by the end of June 2024, joining the hull and the aluminium superstructure is scheduled for July, and they are planning to start outfitting the explorer in August.

If everything goes on schedule, the yacht is to be delivered to the owner in 2025.

Enrico Lumini from Hot Lab promises that the interiors will be ‘fresh, contemporary and organic’. The exterior design is described as ‘attractive and modern’, with all the attributes of a true explorer: seakeeping, long range and a high level of comfort on board in different climatic conditions.

Another keel-laying ceremony is to take place at Antonini Navi in a few days: this time of a semi-custom Seamore 33 motor superyacht, which has been sold to an Italian client. Thus, the young Italian shipyard that appeared only in 2020 seems to be doing fairly well.

"Three years ago Antonini Group CEO Simone Antonini and I began a complex, difficult and ambitious business venture: the creation of a company that could offer a real and reliable alternative in the industry from the ground up and become, in the space of a few short years, a valid choice among custom yacht builders," said Antonini Navi sales director Aldo Manna. "We are convinced that it is the credibility and technical competence of our people that makes the difference. And, because we are a determined and professional team, we are also convinced that the market will reward us again, and soon.”
