With Milano project the shipyard wants to remind the market that they are one of the top luxury superyacht manufacturers

It is no coincidence that the project got a name of the home city of Nauta Design, since Milan is “a place where creative ideas manifest into concrete realities”.  It might also be a hint that the project is not just a concept, but quite a real offer, for which the shipyard will be trying to find a customer.

With a length of 70 metres, a beam of 11.8 metres and a draft of 3.5 metres the yacht does not look bulky at all. “The stretched horizontal lines establish a seamless connection with the sea's surface and the horizon, providing an intimate connection with the natural environment. It embodies a reinvention of clean forms and harmonious volumes, resulting in a visual effect of lightness, purity, and serenity”, sais Mario Pedol, Nauta Design co-founder.

In large part the clean and simple lines of the hull and the superstructure, as well as generous exterior lounges are a reference to the city environment. For instance, in the centre of the sundeck there is a huge bar open on all sides with high chairs that can often be seen in clubs and restaurants located on the roofs and terraces of various houses.

There are spacious lounge and dining areas at lower levels, a beach club with a pool that gets even larger with the help of fold-down platforms, which is one of the most attractive open spots on the yacht right close to the sea.

The engine room is located below the lower deck, which allows the guests to get to the beach club directly from their four guest cabins on the lower deck. The main deck open aft is connected with the beach club through wide central stairs, while inside there is a saloon with a dining area and a lounge. Further forward there are two VIP cabins with fold-out terraces, a galley and a garage forward, capable of accommodating two tenders of 9 and 8.5 meters.

The entire upper deck is dedicated to the owner. The vast stateroom with panoramic view is located forward and has access to a private pool, a lounge and a helipad on the foredeck. There is a skylounge and an outdoor dining area towards aft.

In addition to the wheelhouse the bridgedeck houses a captain's cabin and a small saloon that can be used as a cinema.

At present Tankoa offers Milano with an eco-friendly diesel-electric propulsion system with four variable speed generators, that will supply energy for two e-motors of 1650kW each. Based on preliminary data, this will enable a top speed of 16.5 knots, as well as powering the yacht's hotel services.

Besides, Tankoa reports that they are seriously thinking of  integrating methanol fuel cells, which currently offer the best combination of sustainability, comfort and safety.

“This project means a further step in the growth and consolidation phase that makes Tankoa one of the top players in the construction of luxury megayachts,” says Vincenzo Poerio, CEO of Tankoa Yachts. “Fusing cutting-edge technology with meticulous attention to details, Milano embodies our vision for excellence. Collaborating with Nauta Design, with whom we share a rich history of mutual respect and friendship spanning three decades, is truly gratifying".
